Research In Motion’s BlackBerry smartphones will finally go on sale in Finland in April this year, it has been confirmed.
Finland is the only European country where BlackBerry phones are not available, but that’s all about to change in two month’s time. That’s thanks to Finnish network Cubio which has confirmed that it will be launching a number of BlackBerry OS 7 handsets at its Cubio Shop in Helsinki and online.
These incoming handsets include the BlackBerry Torch 9810, Bold 9900, Bold 9790 and the fully-touchscreen Torch 9860, the GSM operator has confirmed, although there’s not yet any details on the handsets’ pricing. We do know how ever that the phones will come equipped with RIM’s BBM service for sending free messages, and we’re hoping for cheap calls to Finland too.
The network, which is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator taking advantage of Elisa’s network, seems to suggest that its pricing will be flexible, though. Cubio’s website states: “Simply put, our aim is to stay out of your way. Our job is done if you won’t even notice us in the background. Our service is flexible and tailored – suitable for individuals or a one man shop. For medium and bigger businesses we have solutions with comprehensive management tools and much more.”
