A report from 2010 shows that Turkey has 61.8 million mobile subscribers in total, which equates to an 83.51% penetration rate.
There are three main mobile operators throughout Turkey, including Turkcell (with 33.5 million subscribers), Vodafone (16.7 million) and the Turkish Telecom-owned Avea (11.6 million)
Besides its three main networks, there are 5 prominent Mobiel Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) throughout the country. These include Muhabbet Kart (using Turkcell's network), and Fenercall, GSMobile, TrabzonCell, KartalCell and TTNET MOBIL (all using the Avea network).
A report from June 2010 shows that Turkey has 35 million Internet users - 45 percent of the population. This is over half the number of Turkish people who own a mobile phone.
