Nokia 6080 was designed as an updated version of Nokia 6070 camera phone. The handset has a lightweight feature which measures 105.4 x 44.3 x 18.6 mm and weighs 91 grams that makes it easier to use and carry. The phone has a missing event indicator wherein lights flash periodically in order to alert missed calls, received text messages or calendar alarms. It also comes with 16MB total memory including up to 4.3MB user memory. Battery life can provide 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time on a fully charged battery.

The mobile phone comes with a larger display for excellent readability. It is characterized with a bright 65K colour screen and a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. It displays animated wallpapers, animated screensavers and different colour schemes that can be personalized by the user. It has an illuminated keypad layout with a configurable right and left soft key for easier use.

The Nokia 6080 is equipped with a VGA type camera not only for still photos but for videos as well. The camera feature comes with a photo frame option for image effects that the user can enjoy and share with family and friends. It also includes a built-in flash that allows the user to shoot at any time especially on spaces with poor light condition. Another addition is a video clip recorder and video player feature which enables the user to record & playback footage with its user-friendly video features.

It features a text message service, MMS which allows the user to create, receive, edit and send images. It also has a Nokia Xpress audio messaging for sending recorded voice clips, and predicative text input feature that supports all major language in both Europe and Asia Pacific. The said feature can be set to on or off depending on user needs. With the multimedia message service feature it allows the user to send images or video clips with text and sound for an enhanced messaging experience.

A rather interesting feature of the Nokia 6080 is the push to talk button. It has a similar function to that of a "walkie talkie" and permits the user to communicate with others over the cellular network. For further explanation, when the user holds down the button it allows him to talk to others and when the “push to talk” button is released it allows the user to listen. Moreover, the phone was designed with a built-in microphone and speaker for hands-free usage. The phone also enables the user to use voice commands for selected feature activation. It also allows the use of a voice dialing feature to call others.

Unfortunately the 6080 lacks an MP3 music player. However, it has a built-in FM stereo radio to add user enjoyment. This will let them experience a lively music from the FM radio station of their choice. The handset also comes with a stereo headset for personal radio listening. It offers a wide variety of ringing tones and alerts. Furthermore, it allows the user to select from MP3, midi, true tunes or polyphonic ringing tone formats which can also be downloaded.

A notable feature of the mobile phone is the use of infrared connection and a wired USB cable connection. Although it does not have a Bluetooth feature, it can still provide faster data connection and transfer on the internet for the reason that it comes with the EDGE technology. Likewise, it also comes with an email service which supports SMTP, POP3, & IMAP4. This enables users to send and receive directly on the handset. The mobile phone has an operating frequency of a tri band network which allows communication to wider coverage.

In addition, the Nokia 6080 has a personal organizer. These includes a highly manageable phone book, a calendar which allows reminders to be set, calculator to work out a budget, "to-do list" for a day’s activity, notepad, alarm clock, and a countdown timer. It also features a distinctive blinking light effect to indicate an alarm, a missed call or received message.

Although the phone’s simple design and typical features may not impress you that much, it definitely has a lot of practical functions. Moreover, it still has an elegant and undeniably smart look best suited for users who are looking for affordable and handy mobile phones.
