The RAZR2 V8 is characterized by a super thin and lightweight design which is only 11.9mm thick and weighs 117g. It is made from stainless steel and chrome casing making it noticeably glossy and shiny. In addition, it also comes with a chemically hardened glass to make it scratch resistant. With weight and casing aside, it features a large external touch screen measuring 31mm by 40mm for easier message access and music player control. Moreover, it slightly vibrates every time a user places a command on the touch screen buttons.

Packed with cleverly designed features, the RAZR V8 really is a highly fashionable and sophisticated mobile phone. Inside the phone is a 2.2inch QTFT main screen which offers high quality resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The keypad looks very similar to the Motorola V3 and other RAZR predecessors; the only difference is it looks smoother. Its navigation keys are also user friendly.

Call options for RAZR2 V8 present comfort to the user. It features speed dial which allows storage of up to 9 pre-set numbers and uses a single key for activation. The phone is capable of audio automatic adjustment because it comes with a technology called CrytalTalk. The function of the said technology is to guarantee a clear & crisp audio even on a noisy environment thus, providing you with an exceptional call quality.

Although equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, it still has a trick on its sleeve. Other than the video capture facility and 8 times digital zoom, the camera also has a multi-shot feature which allows the user to take up to 8 consecutive photos. However, if picture quality is of great concern, this is not the right phone for you. The handset also comes with a video recorder which offers up to 2 hours of recording time and playback option.

The RAZR2 V8 is an excellent choice for any fan of music. The integrated music player can easily be using the touch sensitive controls found on its external screen. Aside from that, it can fully support popular music formats. It can also transfer music or sync Windows Media Player’s playlists. The phone’s music setup is definitely superb. A single press on the quick access music key will show the playlist which also has management options. The songs can be organized by song title, artist or genres. RAZR2 V8 is noted for its superior sound quality plus it comes with a great earphone that can control music and voice commands.

The phone comes with a voice reminder function which is an interesting addition to the handset’s voice features. The said feature allows its users to store and record voice reminders on the phone.

Memory options for V8 aren’t so impressive. Unfortunately, users only have two options. They can use either a 512MB or a 2GB in-house memory. This is because the mobile phone has no expandable memory card slot. The battery performance of the Motorola RAZR2 V8 is average. The standard talk time is about 8 hours and it has a 280-hour standby time.

As for message features, it includes SMS, MMS, EMS and email service. It also has quite a few embedded quick replies which can be used without the need to open the handset. Users have the option to place pre-set messages. The mobile phone also comes with a MotoSync feature wherein it allows calendar, email and phonebook synchronization.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth (with A2DP), Micro USB, GPRS and EDGE technology. Likewise, the Motorola RAZR2 V8 has a personal organization function. Other than the usual organizer features, it comes with vibration alert, handsfree speaker, voice memo and voice recognition dialing.

The mobile phone does not have 3G capability, but it is bundled with amazing tools. It includes several user guides for Napster, 20th Century Fox movies and other mobile services. Aside from the USB plug and earphone, it comes with a silky protective pouch and a software CD used for synchronization purposes.

In conclusion, the Motorola RAZR2 V8 is a highly attractive yet functional clamshell mobile phone. Though it has minor drawbacks, it showed huge improvements as it now runs on the Linux based user interface. In addition, the phone carries practical features with great music player functions.

With its additional enhancements and fantastic improvement, the Motorola RAZR2 V8 is the best RAZR phone to date.

The Motorola V8 RAZR2 is the 2nd Motorola V series phone i owned. i bought the original because i could not resist the TV adverts. but i enjoyed using it so much that i upgraded to the V8 RAZR2. the phone was a dream to use, and the pictures i took with my camera are some of my favourite pictures of all time. i also loved the feel and the look of the phone, sleek, streamlined and so very very sexy. the larger keys were easy to use and i am still very fond of my V8 RAZR2, though it is now my second phone. i would recommend the phone to anyone who is looking for a mobile that is loaded with features, has a terrific camera and is beautiful to look, hold and use.
