Orange UK is a mobile phone network founded by Hutchinson Telecom in 1994 and now owned by France Telecom. At the end of 2007, Orange had an estimated 15.64 million active subscribers.

In April 2006 Orange launched its four animal named contract packages, Dolphin, Canary, Racoon and Panther. They extended this to Pay As You Go packages in April 2008 although they replaced Panther with Camel.

Orange offers ADSL internet after it bought Wanadoo (originally Freeserve) and offers free broadband to its 18 month contract customers.

In the UK, Orange is known for sponsoring the BAFTAs and Glastonbury Festival. It also shows advertisements before films at almost every cinema and Orange Wednesdays gives customers 2 tickets for the price of 1 to see a film on Wednesdays.
