A member of Sony Ericsson's Snapshot Range of mobile phones, the S302 is a stylish handset that tips the scale at 79 grams and has the full dimensions of 101 x 46 x 11 millimetres. Slim and compact, this mobile phone stands out in its high-gloss finish with casings that come in thunder grey and crystal blue colours. This mobile phone boasts of a TFT screen that measures 50.80 millimetres and displays images and picture wallpapers in 262,000 colours on 176 x 220 pixels. It offers a wide range of polyphonic, MP3 and ACC ringtones that users can set as call or text alarms.
As a quad band communication device, this mobile phone operates on the networks bands of GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. Moreover, it is a delight to bring during flights with its Flight Mode option. It allows users to explore the World Wide Web with its pre-installed WAP XHTML browser. Users who want to share or transfer data with other compatible devices such as personal computers, laptops and printers may utilise the USB or Bluetooth connectivity options. This mobile phone works on GPRS and EDGE, making it possible for users to download files at a speedier rate.
This handset offers the customary messaging service of SMS or text that works on Predictive Input as well as MMS or multimedia messaging. Users can also access their e-mail and send or receive e-mail messages to or from their contacts without having to sit in front of a computer.
The Sony Ericsson S302 comes with a set of efficient organiser tools. Being part of the Snapshot range, this attractive mobile phone has an integrated 2-Megapixel that enables on-the-go users to freeze moments in photos using a quick snap. The built-in camera offers a 2.5x digital zoom complete with photo light for better lighting of picture outputs. Users may also enhance pictures taken using this handset through the Photo Fix feature. As a multi-tasking imaging tool, the integrated camera can also be used to record videos complete with the video light feature. This mobile phone comes with 20 Megabytes of default internal memory. This storage capacity can be expanded using an M2 memory stick. It offers users 7 hours of talk time and stays on standby mode for 300 hours. This mobile phone's starter kit is complete with a rechargeable standard battery and power adapter.
According to unhappy users, this handset's video recording capability frustrates, as its resolution is limited. There are also criticisms regarding the camera key that tends to delay photo captures even when the camera button is fully pressed. In addition, others have found the glossy surface a downside because it is a fingerprint magnet.
Meanwhile, satisfied users have liked the Sony Ericsson S302 for its compact size which makes it convenient to either carry or slip in their pocket. Others also commend this mobile phone's keypad because of its well-spaced buttons that make text and numeric inputs a breeze.
