i got this phone 2 month ago, yet, its already broken, the slider is a major fault on this phone, it totally broke the sound, and now the screen has gone off, i can only use the phone when holding the slider down a touch from the top, i wouldnt recommend this phone to anyone, worst phone ive ever had.

Review on the Samsung U900 Soul. Most people when obtaining an upgrade on there mobile phone will be led by the retailers recommendation or by the network or retailers stock availibility. I was advised by my network provider to go for the 'all singing and all dancing' Samsung U900 Soul. Six months down the line now and I'm on to my second handset due to numerous data or technical faults and the one I have is on occasions freezing up. Wish I found this site before I committed myself on handset choice, then I would have stuck with Sony ericsson which phone by phone are a vastly superior handset. Well only twelve months to go before I have the choice again and when I do I will read reviews before i buy...

Sophisticated and well designed phone with great build quality. Good auto focus camera with anti shake and overall well equipped. One big problem, it`s supposed to be a phone first and multi function device secondly. As a phone it`s very poor, even though volume up to max and set for `outdoor` use I missed three calls in one day. Call and ringtone volumes are so quiet, great `eye candy` but as a mobile phone almost useless. You can`t take calls if you can`t hear it ring.

Having used Nokia forever changed to Samsung U900 Soul. Lovely phone but with problems. Had a lot of missed calls and phone was on my desk but did not ring. And people cannot hear me during conversation Battery cover seems to become loose.

Recently received this phone as part of a contract upgrade and overall am pleased with it. I was looking for a phone with a decent camera, this one having a 5MP camera seemed to suit well. I have taken a few shots with it and it definately isnt as clear as the camera on my previous phone (K800i) but is still fairly good. The Samsung U900 Soul touch screen is very cool, it feels more like buttons as it has force feedback when you activate one of the buttons. Alot of people have mentioned the very quiet speaker during calls, i had this when i first used the phone but this can be edited in the menus so is no real problem.
Overall, great phone..even if i havent got the internet side of it working yet.

having recently upgraded to the samsung u900 soul i feel i must point out a major fault, sure its packed with features, looks great and is backed by a fantastic advertising campaign, but the people at samsung have overlooked a minor detail, firstly its a phone, not an mp3 or a camera, a phone. i have yet to come across a phone with such poor sound quality or one that is so prone to background noise and have had several frustrating phone calls resulting in me looking like dom jolly. I returned mine today and exchanged it for the lg kf750 secret and hallelujah i can hear again.

I recently got this phone on contract and have found it extremely difficult to hear people when on a call. I have read other forums about problems ppl have had with the soul and they are exactly the same as mine. The phone is generally really quiet which is a big disappointment as the rest of the phone is great and looks really cool. I have actually now had three samsung souls in the last two weeks, each with the same problem, i also tested one in the shop and have spoken to Samsung who agree that it is quiet. I dont think anything is being done about the problem. So im now changing to the new LG Secret which is meant to be good (stated by someone who has recently sent back the soul with same probs as mine).

After a couple of Motorolas and Nokias before that, I decided to give the new Samsung U900 Soul a go. Initially, there were no problems, the phone being stylish, generally well made out of quality materials with the great touch-screen navi pad which workes well plus many other interesting and useful features. This is my second Soul, because the first and now this one seem to develop a creakiness to the casing on the left hand side, including the two left mechanical keys (soft key and answer key). This is annoying, to the point that I am now considering ditching this otherwise fine phone and reverting back to a Nokia or Motorola. Shame!

Having broken loyalty to Ericsson phones, i thought this would be the perfect move. My biggest problem with this phone is the lack of apostrope as a standard punctuation mark when texting (you have to press a button which opens another menu), but i suppose that's the same with all samsungs? I like the style of the phone and it the picture quality is good. Again, however i do not think the sound quality matches up to Ericssons'. I found the highest ringtone volume to be extremely low, perhaps due to the location of the speaker on the slide. If like me you work in a noisy environment, i've missed a few calls due to simply not hearing the phone. I too found the camera a little hard to use at first, but have now figured it out. Overall I think it's probably a great phone if you are used to Samsungs, but after a move from another maker, i think it's a bit of dissapointment.

SAMSUNG U900 SOUL
WHEN I FIRST HEARD ABOUT THIS PHONE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE TERRIBLE, NOT UNTIL WHEN I HELD ONE DID I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT THE PHONE. THE CAMERA WAS QUITE HARD TO WORK WITH BUT AFTER SOME TIME I FIGURED IT OUT, THE TOUCH PAD IS EXCELLENT, I ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BACK COVER AND SEEING THE PHONE IN THE SUN OHER THAN THIS, THIS PHONE IS GREAT, THE DESIGN IS GREAT AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PHONE TO ANYBODY.
