Clad in a sleek casing that exudes a brushed metallic effect, the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition is a fashionable handset that comes in various edging colours of red, black, blue and orange. It is a slider mobile phone that resembles the characteristics of the Samsung F480 Tocco. Measuring 110 x 51.5 x 12.7 millimetres and weighing 119 grams, it displays a colour screen that measures 71.12 millimetres. The sleek mobile phone also works on a touch-sensitive functionality for easier access to its features displayed on screen.

The mobile phone also covers quad band network and HSDPA 2100. It offers a wide coverage that is ideal for worldwide roaming, depending on the user's network provider.

The handset has an onboard XHTML and HTML Web browser that allows users to surf the World Wide Web. Connecting with other compatible devices such as laptops, printers and personal computers in order to share and transfer files is possible using the USB cable connection, or through the wireless Bluetooth support. The mobile phone is powered by the EDGE technology which supports speedier transfer rates. Moreover, it is a 3G-enabled mobile phone that supports HSDPA technology, ensuring its multitasking ability. As such, the handset supports high-speed Internet connectivity and downloading rates.

Users of the handset will be able to communicate with their contacts through its text and multimedia messaging services. Composing, receiving and sending email messages are also possible with the Samsung Tocco Ultra. A bonus feature of the mobile phone is its on-board GPS receiver complete with AGPS as destination or location guide.

Using a built-in microphone and a hands-free speaker system, users of the mobile phone can take calls in a hassle-free manner. The handset recognises voice commands and offers the voice dialing function. It also comes with a call log system that tracks calls that have been made, received or missed by its user.

A main attraction of the sleek handset is its built-in 8-Megapixel camera that takes photos over a resolution of 3264 × 2448 pixels. It has been integrated with a dual LED flash for background enhancement or to light up the darkest of surroundings for a well lit photo. In addition, this camera has a face and smile detector as well as an auto-focus feature to perfectly and clearly capture subjects. It also comes with a multi-shot support that allows users to easily take multiple shots. Users of the Samsung Tocco Ultra may store their photos in an album to be accessed anytime.

Besides photo taking support, the imaging focused mobile phone offers recording of moving footages at up to 30 frames per second over high quality sequence to freeze the fun moments. The integrated camera also supports video playback in popular formats such as H263, MPEG4, H264, DivX and WMV9. The mobile phone also offers geo tagging through its support for a built-in GPS receiver. The handset also supports video calling on the touch screen through a small camera situated at the front area of the handset.

The 3G mobile phone also comes in various music entertainment features that allow users to enjoy their favourite tracks on the handset. The mobile phone has a music player that supports AAC, MP3 and WMA formats. It also comes with a built-in radio feature for users to enjoy their favourite tracks over their preferred radio stations. In addition, its radio feature has an integrated Radio Data System which displays information on FM stations like artist, song titles and genre. The mobile phone has user friendly music features and dedicated controls which makes listening to songs a breeze for music lovers.

The mobile phone comes with a rechargeable fitted battery that offers four hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. Users can use the handset's internal memory of 80 megabytes to save photos, contacts, and other files. The handset will expand its memory capability to up to 16 Gigabytes through a mIcroSD memory card.

Some users of the handset have raised complaints regarding its lack of a properly functioning flash feature. Owners were also put off by the touch screen's dubious interface. Nonetheless, the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition has continuously awed users with its brilliant features that compete with advanced handsets in the market.

User Reviews for the Samsung Tocco Ultra

I bought it a couple of days ago. The responsiveness of the touch screen instantly blew me over, and so did its vibrant colours. It has the quintessential handset features but Samsung incorporated some twist into it by added extras that I actually liked. The camera's broad adjustment options and settings are really good. My only complaint is the sound quality during calls. I often end up asking people to repeat what they're saying. It has become really annoying because I do more calls than text with this handset. I've heard people whine about the same thing; I believe the manufacturer should pay attention to this issue.

I'm very happy with my Samsung Tocco Ultra. It has a good set of menus, an awesome camera and a user-friendly keypad. I was able to take pictures using this phone and viewed them on the gorgeous screen. When I had them printed out, I was looking at exactly the same pictures with great colours. Also, I just found recently that it allows me to create ‘groups' for contacts, which is extremely useful. This handset really met, if not exceeded my expectations. I don't regret taking the time to get used to it, because eventually, it did work properly. You can't simply miss out on its great features just because you think familiarising them is too much of a bother.

I have been a Sony Ericsson fan since the invention of modern mobile phones. I took a plunge and picked the Tocco Ultra as it was the only phone my mum was willing to give me as a gift. I couldn't be happier that I chose this handset because it has awesome features! Its touch screen is snappier than I expected. It has almost everything I need in a neat little package.

I am one of those who try to make sure that I am getting the handset with quality entertainment features. Fortunately, the Tocco didn't disappoint me. I think that the macro mode of this handset's camera is superb. I photographed flowers that were at a distance of 12cm, and it came out with excellent colours and detailing. I tweaked the settings a bit for indoor photographs under standard household lights. My photos came out really good. The crisp colours of each shot always amaze me.

I like how the Tocco always looks polished because of its anti-scratch and anti-fingerprint feature. I am kind of keen with keeping my stuff spotless and I give the Tocco a perfect 10 for that. However, I still have some gripes with the phone's tendency to drop calls. Too bad, that problem is really a turn-off.

The Samsung Tocco Ultra has a screen rotating feature that works very well. I just have to be patient with turning it on, because it takes quite a while. I have also been charging its battery everyday. I'm still trying to figure out, though, if I got a slightly defective phone, because the rest of its features are excellent. The integrated camera works really well and its touch interface is addictive. Among all others that I have had, this phone got the most compliments from my mates. They think this phone looks awesome and has high-tech features.

Well, I got this phone 6 days ago and thought it looked terrific. Can you believe how I felt when its touch screen froze the first minute I used it? Talk about first impression! I had tried making calls using this handset and the sound was terrible. I wonder where all those odd vibrating sensations came from. My major complaint though, is this phone's bad reception in my house, which I've never experienced with the other 7 phones I've had before. I suggest you spare yourself from the hassle and don't buy this *%$£. I'm sending it back today and going back to Nokia.

This is a truly sexy handset. The first time I saw it I thought it looked more beautiful than other 3G phones. The touch screen works really great too (I had expected less, actually). Fortunately, I haven't had any problem with texting. I think that the drag-and-drop widgets in this phone are truly innovative. It would have been better if it had with screen savers and themes. That's not that much of an issue with me, though, because my photos are bursting with vibrant colours!

Does anyone know how to work with speed dials in the Samsung Tocco Ultra? Well, yes, it is filled with all the great specs, but I've spent the last two weeks trying to figure out how to set up voice or speed dials, and had no single luck at it! I mean, does this phone even have that feature? I have had a great time using its camera and enjoyed its music player, but I do need some answers regarding the speed dial problem.

The Samsung Tocco Ultra has a highly sensitive touch screen. That means it goes too fast only if you push it too fast! I have learned to handle it properly and it works really well. Do a thorough navigation and learn both the fun and practical features. I use this phone for checking my email, taking and viewing pictures, recording and playing video footages and listening to music. This phone also serves as my alarm clock, records my daily schedules at work and allows me to view most documents. What else can I say? I really enjoy using this phone.

I have fallen in love with the Samsung Tocco Ultra. I mean, how can anyone not? It is a lovely handset with all the cool features. I expected less of this phone, but I actually find it both sleek and practical. Samsung has features that I could use for work, such as its document viewer and scheduler. It has not served simply as a texting gadget. Its underpowered battery problem is something I can deal with. Overall, I can say that the good stuff in this phone definitely outweigh the bad. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

The look and feel of the phone is excellent . Bright crisp display very solid feel to the phone ,camera is excellent . I few little quirks ,already mentioned in other reviews ,but I can live with them .
Why 4 out of 10 you ask ? The battery life is atrocious , Samsung will replace it free of charge for another underpowered one . And ,secondly , Samsung Support is non existent , so if you want to spend your time banging your head against a wall with them ,go for it

This mobile phone really feels very durable and solid. I love the scratch-resistant touch screen and frames of this handset. I also find the slide mechanism very smooth. The touch screen is quite good as well. I think the camera is really great! I snapped some pictures and got really good outputs with brilliant colours. Perhaps the only real setback is its volume for calls. The handset's interface and advanced features are not for the impatient, because it can be a bit complicated sometimes. Overall, I still think it is an excellent phone and would choose it over the others.

In a week, this handset has driven me nuts. I often spend 15 minutes for typing in a URL and the touch screen simply becomes unresponsive. Internet browsing is definitely a no-no when using the Samsung Tocco Ultra. I was actually drawn to it because of how lovely it looks. It also boasts of features that seem very useful. Even if I can say that it looks awesome, I won't recommend it to anyone. I'm no expert, but I definitely had enough of it. For me, the best feature of the Tocco is its built-in music player. I like it because it plays most audio file formats. The huge internal memory and the option to add more capacity allow me to store thousands of music tracks that I can enjoy listening to everyday! The Tocco also comes with a feature that identifies a song that is currently playing. Its integrated FM radio is a bonus. I love it.

I like the Samsung Tocco Ultra's integrated music player. It works like my good old MP3 player that allows me to sort my music files according to genre, artist or albums. I listen to my favourite tracks everyday using this phone and never had serious problems with it. For a non-pro with phones like me, it works smoothly enough. I think it is a good alternative to having a separate handset and a music player. I think this phone is great and I am very happy with it.

This phone excels with its file browser. It's very user friendly for the non-techie types like me. It's also excellent for viewing photos. I think that the Samsung Tocco Ultra has the sharpest colours ever! The same goes for the sound quality it offers. I never had any problems with transferring all my favourite songs from the PC to this handset. In fact, this phone has become my constant music listening device. I also think it is fabulously designed! It has a sophisticated touch that pleases the pros, but can be cool enough for a much younger crowd. I believe Samsung really nailed it this time!

I think that the Tocco's 3G feature is awesome. Most of the time, I have been using this phone for Web browsing. Its HSDPA implementation at 7.2 Mbps enables me to download at speeds faster than my broadband connection at home! This makes the Tocco a remarkable platform for mobile Internet. Its large touch screen with sharp colours and a dedicated Google application are definitely a plus. I am also very satisfied with its overall design. It looks really good and is well-built. I have to admit that this handset beats my old iPhone in almost every aspect.

I am satisfied with nearly everything about this handset! It certainly is not flawless, given some minor phone technicalities that may need a bit more time to tinker. However, as I said, I find it both pretty and practical as a whole. I am not a Samsung fan, but I love the Samsung Tocco Ultra.

I thought of the iPhone 3G as the best gadget in the world, but I was delighted to see the Samsung Tocco Ultra! It looks great and is much slimmer than my last phone, but has much more features. The GPS application is something new to me, so I grabbed the manual and learned how to use it -- and it actually worked! I am in my late 40s and had no idea about all those other features! Eventually though, I found it to be generally user-friendly. I think it is the finest phone ever. I intend to keep it for a very long time. Well done, Samsung!

I also love the backlight, automatic flash and LED features that help illuminate scenes. I also was not too sure about its touch tone feature, but I found it surprisingly easy to use. Some of the top mobile phone features, and its beautiful design is icing on the cake. What I really like about the Tocco is the interplay of the practical and the fun stuff. It's not at all work with standard text and call features, but it's not some play gadget either. I like the haptic technology very much. Also, you don't get an integrated camera that's simply put in there; you can tell it really works. Its music player also has great audio quality. I am the type who easily grows impatient with mobile phones that give me a hard time, just like the Tocco. This phone, however, kept me interested because it has a great set of features. The large touch screen really grabbed my attention, and I was surprised to learn that it has a very user-friendly interface. The music player was good, the GPS is interesting and the large storage capacity will keep all of my videos, photos and music files. At first, I thought it had a crappy and complicated issue with its lack of corrective option for texting, but it's actually fairly easy to get used to. The Tocco is one of the handsets that I kept with me for over 8 weeks.

At first glance, I thought that it looked really amazing. Its beautiful design was simply enticing and oozing with sophistication. It also seemed like a very reliable handset. I used it and liked most of its features. I found the touch screen very good. The camera is easy to use, and I enjoy the great audio quality of the music player. I was, however, a little disappointed with its battery life. I think the original Tocco gave me some 11 hours of music playback from a fully charged battery, but this Tocco Ultra couldn't go anywhere near that. It only gave me some 5 hours and 40 minutes of music playback. That can be a little disappointing for users like me who love music, so I make sure it's running on full battery everyday.

I'd say the Samsung Tocco Ultra offers great picture quality, but I am disappointed with it. I wonder why I end up pressing the camera button forever to snap a picture. I also didn't get the shots that I wanted because the camera was so slow at capturing the moments as they were. The rest of the features are good, but not as great as others would say. My N95 worked better for me, to be honest. I had hoped that Samsung put in all those great-sounding features without compromising ease of use, but it did.
