The Samsung M110 Solid is most notable for being highly robust. It can withstand certain elements that are otherwise harmless to most mobile phones, including water, dust and dropping on hard surfaces. The Samsung M110 Solid is housed in rubberised casing, with a handset that is sealed completely in order to protect the mobile phone from damages caused by splashes of water and dust.

The Samsung M110 Solid has an IP54 rating tucked under its belt. The IP54 is representative of the mobile phone or electronic item’s protection against solid matters and against liquids. Pursuant to the rating, tests found the Samsung M110 Solid to be built on technology that provides an Ingress Protection to effectively withstand dust, among other solid objects. This capacity allows a user to normally use the mobile phone even in dustier areas that are close to desert environments.

The Samsung M100 Solid also has liquids protection rating, which means that the handset is able to defend itself against water that is sprayed from various directions. Moreover, this means that dropping the Samsung M110 Solid into various liquids – such as liquor – for short durations will have minimal effect, if any, on the handset’s performance.

In the end, the Samsung M110 Solid proves to be designed with a capacity to effectively dust off after a smashing fall, and to function normally thereafter, as if it was neither touched nor damaged.

For its main features, the Samsung M110 Solid tips the scale at only 95 grams – 35 grams less than its competitor, JCB Tough. The Samsung M110 Solid comes with a 38.10-millimeter screen which displays more than 65,000 colours and 128 x 128 pixels in resolution. Measuring 109mm x 48mm x 17.9mm, the Samsung M110 Solid is relatively handy and is known for being a durable, yet pocketable, robust mobile phone.

By standards, the Samsung M110 Solid user connects with others through text, multimedia and enhanced messaging services. There is also a predictive text feature which allows a user to more quickly type in messages with the use of fewer keys. Its other features are also the basics, including Bluetooth wireless support technology, polyphonic ringtone capabilities and a built-in FM radio.

The mobile phone also allows users to download games to it for entertainment purposes. The handset has a flash light, allowing the Samsung M110 Solid to easily convert to a torch with just a quick touch of the switch. These features may be present in most other phones that are sold in the market today, but according to user reviews, these prove that Samsung M110 Solid is better equipped as compared with JCB Tough.

In addition, the Samsung M110 Solid has a built-in SOS message option specifically for situations that call for emergencies. It also has a WAP Internet browser that provides XHTML browsing. The Samsung M110 Solid has a basic, easy-to-use zero-megapixel VGA camera that comes with a flash and zoom options.

The mobile phone’s CSTN screen may be utilized by users as a viewfinder when taking photo shots. This Samsung M110 Solid’s camera has in its settings certain options for basic enhancement of photos. These added perks include photo quality enhancement, photo effects, and shot mode.

The Samsung M110 Solid handset also has a 2-megabyte built-in memory, which may be expanded through the MicroSD card, at the user’s discretion and need. The battery of this practical handset provides talk time of a maximum of 8 hours when fully charged. The mobile phone functions on dual-band network, covering GSMs 1800 and 900.

Admittedly, most owners find that the Samsung M110 Solid has external features which are less appealing and less specified; however, the technologies incorporated internally are meant to make it long-lasting, and serve the mobile phone’s main purpose.

Online reviews have credited Samsung for the effort they put on the M110 Solid mobile phone, making it comparable with JCB’s Tough phone. Some people have found the Samsung M110 Solid to be a handier and neater choice over the JCB Tough. Comparisons aside, Samsung’s MM10 Solid and JCB’s Tough perform for what they were made of, and selecting on which serves better is already a matter of the user’s personal inclination.

I recently purchased the Samsung M110 Solid phone which was new into Tesco. In general I am satisfied that it performs much as expected...except for one glaring silliness!
There is a currency converter application on this phone , but there is no conversion possible for either Sterling or American dollars!!
When I queried this with Samsung customer services I was informed that the conversion was intended to be useful for interchange of values within countries currently using Euros and the UK does not qualify in these terms. I suggested that this was nonsense since it could reasonably be assumed that people from these countries would visit the UK from time to time and what are they supposed to do then?
We are talking about a line of software..why wouldn't you include Sterling? You might think that if the phone is now being sold in the UK, then an upgrade could fairly easily be made available.
