Standing out as one of Samsung’s classic handsets with basic features, the Samsung C270 is a lightweight clamshell designed mobile phone. It has a total weight of 75 grams and full measurements of 88 x 45 x19.8 millimetres, making it easy to carry. Samsung offers the C270 in essentially black casing with streaks of different vibrant colours of bubbly blue, sexy silver and ravishing red.

When flipped open, users will find a single internal CSTN screen display that exhibits picture wallpapers and screensavers in 65,000 colours over a screen resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. To complement its user's personality, this handset is pre-installed with a selection of ringtones in polyphonic format that users can set as call or text alerts and others alarms.

The Samsung C270 offers dual band reach and functions on GSM 900 and GSM 1800 networks. It allows users to access the World Wide Web and check out their favourite Web sites though its built-in WAP 1.2 Internet browser. This handset is powered by GPRS Class 10 which boosts Internet downloading rates for quicker Web navigation.

Users may store their data in the Samsung C270’s internal memory of 600 Kilobytes. This handset allows users to keep in touch with their friends and family. It offers SMS or text messaging as well as EMS or enhanced messaging services. It is powered by standard Li-Ion 750 mAh battery, which offers users quality talk time up to 7 hours with their contacts. When it is fully charged, this mobile phone can last for up to 510 hours in standby time.

More than just a device for taking and making calls, this mobile phone houses a set of organiser tools to assist users in the management of their daily schedules, plans or other transactions. It comes with a phone book which stores up to 1,000 contract entries, a unit or measurement converter, a currency converter, an alarm clock, a world clock, a stop watch and a timer. This mobile phone also has an onboard voice memo facility, which users may utilise to take vocal notes

As a bonus, calls using this handset are made easier even on a hectic day through its built-in speaker phone that offers users hands-free communication. Thanks to this handset’s vibration option, users are kept on top of their urgent calls, text messages or alarms even in places and occasions when ringing handsets are not allowed. The Samsung C270 also assists users as they keep keen track of their mobile phone transactions. It offers the call log option which records 10 dialed numbers, as well as 10 received and 10 missed calls.

Unsatisfied users have commented that while excellent in taking on the fundamental mobile phone duties, this handset would be a perfect communication tool if only it had at least one game, a simple built-in camera or a music player to keep them entertained. Some observers also said that this handset does not keep up with latest mobile phone models which effectively multitask through their various supported applications and onboard features.

Happy users contend that although endowed with limited mobile phone technology, this handset is eminently basic, which is notably its major benefit. Others also find that while very effective as a basic communication gadget, the Samsung C270 dons a modern look. More happy users also commend this mobile phone for its easy-to-carry design and user-friendly interface. According to some users, this handset is ideal for those who want to do away with handsets which carry excessive features that complicate the purpose of owning mobile phones.
