The Palm Pre is a smartphone with a real QWERTY keyboard and a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash and extended depth of field. It has a 3.1 inch touchscreen display with a 24-bit colour 320x480 resolution HVGA display. Palm Pre uses the webOS platform and is ideal for using the internet, Google, Wikipedia and Twitter. This phone has 8GB of internal storage and has GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It is available in black and has a stereo headset included in the box.

Weighing a total of 133 grams and measuring 100.5 x 59.5 x 16.9 millimetres, the Palm Pre is a Smartphone clad in a black coloured casing that slips right into the pocket and is compact enough for easy grip. It works on slide mechanism that gives it a trendy and practical appeal.

This mobile phone exhibits a TFT display that measures 78.74 millimetres, and functions as a capacitive touch screen. It livens up images and graphics in 16 million colours on 320 x 480 pixels. This touch-sensitive screen comes with an accelerometer sensor that makes auto-rotation possible. Right below this touch screen is a full QWERTY keyboard that makes inputs a breeze and gaming even more fun. It comes with a set of polyphonic and MP3 ringtones that users may assign as alerts for calls and text messages.

The Palm Pre is a quad band mobile phone that functions on GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. As a 3G handset, it also covers HSDPA 850, HSDPA 1900, and HSDPA 2100 networks. It runs on Palm web Operating system and is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz CPU. Enabling users to navigate the World Wide Web, this mobile phone has a pre-installed WAP 2.0 HTML Pocket Internet Explorer browser. Users who are frequently on-the-go may go online using this handset's WLAN Wi-Fi support in designated hot spots. This handset is powered by GPRS Class 10 EDGE technologies, both of which support faster Internet downloading as well as file transfer rates. Its 3G HSDPA-capability ensures users that this mobile phone is reliable at multi-tasking.

The Palm Pre offers traditional communication features of SMS or text in threaded view and MMS or multimedia messaging services. Users may also opt to check their e-mail accounts and compose, send or receive e-mail messages using this handset.

This mobile phone allows users to share files with compatible devices such as laptops, personal computers, scanners, printers and other handset using the microUSB option. For messages or calls that simply cannot be missed, this mobile phone also offers the vibration option. Moreover, it supports GPS system, which serves as guide for users as they travel in certain territories that may be less familiar. For more convenient calls, this handset is equipped with a sspeakerphone facility.

This mobile phone also doubles as a portable photo snapping device. It has an integrated primary camera that takes pictures in 3.15 Megapixels on 2048 x 1536 resolution. The built-in camera makes each moment-capturing session a blast with its enhanced fixed focus and LED flash imaging features for quality photo outputs. Users may also view videos and footages on this mobile phone's wide touch screen on H263, H264 and MPEG4 formats.

A built-in audio player keeps music-loving users' blues away. This versatile integrated audio player enables users to listen to their favourite tracks on AAC, AMR, MP3, QCELP and WAV audio formats. In addition, users who enjoy gaming will appreciate this handset's pre-installed Java games.

This mobile phone enables users to store data in its user-available memory of up to 7.4 Gigabytes. It is powered by standard Li-Ion battery which offers 5 hours of talk time. It is also capable of hanging about on standby mode for an equivalent of 250 hours on a fully charged battery.

Users of this handset have whined that the part which houses the keyboard and the display screen tend to wiggle when the handset is in its closed position. Others have also complained that despite the external sophistication it exudes, the plastic-like casing that is unpleasant to touch. Its non-expandable memory is also a disappointment, according to some users. Satisfied users of the Palm Pre, on the other hand, commend this handset's beautiful interface that is surprisingly easy to familiarize. They also underscore this mobile phone's straightforward features that are packaged in a simple yet classy, easy-to-carry and compact design.
