The Nokia 8800 Arte is a 150-gram mobile phone that measures 109 x 45.6 x 14.6 millimetres. It operates on a slide-opening mechanism, and clad in a casing of glossy black colour that makes it look even more stunning. The Nokia 8800 Arte joins the 8000 Series that includes the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, the Nokia 8600 Luna, the Nokia 8800 and the Nokia 8800 Sirocco.

The Nokia 8800 Arte flaunts a 50.88-millimetre QLED QVGA screen that showcases its changeable themes and living wallpapers in 16 million brilliant colours over a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Adding to its fun style, the Nokia 8800 Arte has MIDI and 64-voice polyphonic ringtones that users can choose to utilise to give their handsets a distinct identity. It also features video ringtones courtesy of Kruder & Dorfmeister, coupled with viewable video ringtone visuals courtesy of Fritz Fitzke.

The Nokia 8800 Arte covers wide reach with a network that is powered by triband technology covering GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900, as well as WCDMA 2100.

When the need to share or transfer files and data to, or from, other compatible devices arise, the Nokia 8800 Arte transforms into a useful tool. The Nokia 8800 is an efficient portable agenda and schedule planner with its set of organiser tools that include a phone book that supports one thousand contacts, a calendar, a notes and to-do list, a world clock, a calculator and a language translator. Users who travel by air will also be able to use the Nokia 8800 Arte with its flight mode support. Calls will be hassle-free using the integrated hands-free speaker of the Nokia 8800 Arte. For optimum convenience, the handset recognises voice commands and supports voice recording.

The Nokia 8800 Arte is designed with unique styles that make it interesting. The handset has a tap for its time feature, which means that tapping the mobile phone will show a sleek clock face on the coloured screen. Because the display screen is powered by an ambient light sensor, it readily adjusts the screen light to go well with its users' environment. The handset also comes with the turn-to-mute feature which mutes incoming ringing tones when the handset is faced down.

Similarly, videos taken may be adjusted to meet the taste of its users, or to add effect to the outputs, using the Video Editor feature of the Nokia 8800 Arte. Music lovers will never go wrong with the Nokia 8800 Arte's integrated music player that supports audio in MP3, AMR, MIDI, AAC, WMA and eAAC+ formats.

While equipped with top-of-the-line imaging features, the Nokia 8800 Arte stays true to downright fun and entertainment with its embedded games in Java format. The mobile phone also supports games that have been downloaded from the Internet.

The Nokia 8800 Arte is able to store photos, videos and other files and data in its internal memory of 1 Gigabyte. The mobile phone offers three hours of talk time and stays on standby mode for 300 hours on a fully charged battery.

While some users may criticise the Nokia 8800 Arte for its limited and non-expandable memory, the handset is reputed for its powerfully sharp video and photo outputs. The Nokia 8800 Arte mobile phone is one of the best looking, slick and sexy looking phone. The 3.2-Megapixel camera with digital zoom and auto focus giving it more competitive advantage in the market from its rival company.
