Motorola W377 Review - User Reviews

I like the smooth and sleek look of this flip-top phone, and the layout is stylish. But the buttons are rather small, and I often almost connect to the internet unwillingly because I hit the web key. It's awkward to find the punctuation marks I need in text messages, and I hate having predictive text as the default option. I've had little experience with mobile phones, so I would really have appreciated a decent user guide, not just the sheet of paper that tells me how to charge it and switch it on. The instructions are totally inadequate, and I've spent a lot of time working my way through the myriad of settings and options. It's a shame there's only room for one MP3 song, but at least I've been able to load my favourite tune and have it as my ringtone. The pre-loaded sounds are quite rubbish, and it should be possible to delete them to make space for your own stuff. I like the fact the cover flashes at you when you have a message, so you don't have to flip it open all the time. Overall I like the phone, but there's probably loads of options I haven't figured out yet, and I hate stpd prdctve txt.

The Motorola w377 is a sleek and stylish phone that is a joy to use and own. I have always preferred clamshell phones and I have just upgraded from a w220, both bought at Woolworth's. The w377 has a personalise menu which enables you to access your preferred functions from the front screen, it has usb or bluetooth to connect to a computer, a surprisingly good camera and it's tri-band, useful if you want to holiday in Europe, the East or in the USA or Canada. It really is worth its price and I think many people will grow to love it. Will it become a style icon? Wait and see ...

I agree with Andrew and John can't work out for the life of me how to use the music player ..which was one of the reasons i bought it!! I also got this on the virgin network and feel it really is their resposibility to provide adequate operating instructions..following instructions for the w375 does not work i've tried it !!although i love the look of the phone and most of the other features I have to score a 6/10 as it doesn't do what it says on the can !!

I totally agree with Andrew from Ipswich comments, how can you expect users to positively comment on a product when it is difficult to operate all the features without a user guide. My score of 5 may improve once i get to grips with the detail.

Bought on Virgin Network for £39.99 including a Motorola Bluetooth Headset H350. I too received an unwanted Sim joining pack - so I'm waiting for a jiffy bag to return the Sim for a £10 refund. I'm wondering if they send these out on purpose in the hope you may pass them on to another potential subscriber! Great stylish phone. If only I could work out how everything works. I've contacted Motorola and Virgin and Motorola tell me they have not produced a user manual for this phone. They suggest taking a look online at the instructions for the W375 which they say is similar - pathetic!! What would you do if didn't have easy internet access? So I can only give 6/10 for usabilty - I just don't know how some features work! The "Getting Started Leaflet" provided is inadequate. I'm sure in time I shall be very satisfied with this phone but I'm not impressed with the lack of detailed information.
