About the United Arab Emirates
United Arab Emirates is located in the Middle East, bordering the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf, between Oman and Saudi Arabia. The area became Islamic in the 7th century. On December 2, 1971, at the Dubai Guesthouse Palace four other Emirates agreed to join and enter into a union of six Emirates called the United Arab Emirates. In accordance with the Constitution, the UAE's Supreme Council of Rulers elected Khalifa as president. In term of economy, it's primarily based on petroleum. UAE had Exports $157 billion petroleum, gas, and petroleum products in 2006. The Natural resources are Oil and natural gas. The UAE has an open economy with a high per capita income and a sizable annual trade surplus. UAE's Purchasing power parity domestic product (GDP) as of 2007 estimate is approximately $159.3 billion with GDP of $55,200 per capita.
