About Tajikstan

The Republic of Tajikistan is the official name of Tajikistan, mountainous landlocked country . It is located in the Central Asia, Afghanistan borders to the south, Uzbekistan to the west, Kyrgyzstan to the north, and China to the east. It has a population growth rate 1.893%. 90% of Tajikistan's people belong to Muslim religion and rest of the 10% of other. The Official and most common language of those people is Tajik. In 9 September 1991, it declared as independent from Samanid empire but final independence gained in 25 December 1991. The territory of what is now Tajikistan has been inhabited continuously since 4000 BCE. It has been under the rule of various empires throughout history, for the longest period under the Persian Empire. The expanding Russian Empire encompassed the territory that is now Tajikistan, along with most of the rest of Central Asia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In term of economy, it is mainly based on cotton crop. Mineral resources include silver, gold, uranium, and tungsten. Industry consists only of a large aluminium plant, hydropower facilities, and small obsolete factories mostly in light industry and food processing. Tajikistan's Purchasing power parity domestic product (GDP) as of 2007 estimate is approximately $11.82 billion with GDP of $1,800 per capita.
