About North Korea

North Korea is the commonly used short form name for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, a state located in East Asia, in the northern half of the Korean Peninsula, with its capital in the city of Pyongyang. The population density of it is 190/sq km. It has a population growth rate of 0.732%. Most of North Korea's people belong to Buddhist and Confucianism religion. The official and most common language of those people is Korean. It has only Homogeneous people except for a small Chinese community. North Korea, one of the world's most centrally directed and least open economies, faces chronic economic problems. Industrial capital stock is nearly beyond repair as a result of years of underinvestment and shortages of spare parts. Industrial and power output have declined in parallel from pre-1990 levels. North Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2007 estimate is approximately $40.00 billion with GDP of $1,900 per capita.
