About Italy

The population of Italy is approximately 58,145,321. The population density of it is 197.6/sq km. It has a population growth rate of -0.019%. Most of Italy's people belong to Roman Catholic religion. Official and most common language of those people is Italian. It has only Italian people. Italy has a diversified industrial economy with roughly the same total and per capita output as France and the UK. This capitalistic economy remains divided into a developed industrial north, dominated by private companies, and a less-developed, welfare-dependent, agricultural south, with 20% unemployment. Most raw materials needed by industry and more than 75% of energy requirements are imported. Italy's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2007 estimate is approximately $1.888 trillion with GDP of $32,319 per capita.
