About Israel
Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a country in Western Asia located on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. It has 76% of Jewish people and 24% of Arab people. Israel has a technologically advanced market economy with substantial, though diminishing and government participation. It depends on imports of crude oil, grains, raw materials, and military equipment. Despite limited natural resources, Israel has intensively developed its agricultural and industrial sectors over the past 20 years. Israel's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2006 estimate is approximately $232.7 billion with GDP of $33,299 per capita.
