About Guinea Bissau

The Republic of Guinea-Bissau is a country in western Africa, and one of the smallest nations in continental Africa. The population of Guinea-Bissau is approximately 1,503,182. The population density of it is 44/sq km. It has a population growth rate of 2.035%. Most of Guinea-Bissau's people belong to indigenous beliefs religion. Official and most common language of those people is Portuguese. It has 99% of African and 1% of European and mulatto people. One of the five poorest countries in the world, Guinea-Bissau depends mainly on farming and fishing. Cashew crops have increased remarkably in recent years, and the country now ranks sixth in cashew production. Guinea-Bissau exports fish and seafood along with small amounts of peanuts, palm kernels, and timber. Guinea-Bissau's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2005 estimate is approximately $1.167 billion with GDP of $736 per capita.
