About Greece

Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in southeastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. The population of Greece is approximately 10,722,816. The population density of it is 84/sq km. It has a population growth rate of 0.146%. Most of Greece's people belong to Greek Orthodox religion. Official and most common language of those people is Greek. It has 93% of Greek people and 7% of other people. Greece has a capitalist economy with the public sector accounting for about 40% of GDP and with per capita GDP at least 75% of the leading euro-zone economies. Tourism provides 15% of GDP. Immigrants make up nearly one-fifth of the work force, mainly in agricultural and unskilled jobs. Greece's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2005 estimate is approximately $1066 million with GDP of $38,200 per capita.
