In term of economy, Fiji, endowed with forest, mineral, and fish resources, is one of the most developed of the Pacific island economies, though still with a large subsistence sector. Sugar exports, remittances from Fijians working abroad, and a growing tourist industry .It has natural resources such as timber, fish, gold, copper, offshore oil potential, hydropower. Its Purchasing power parity domestic product (GDP) as of 2007 estimate is approximately $5.079 billion with GDP of $5,500 per capita.
