About the country

Brazil, officially the Federative Republic of Brazil, is a country in South America. It is the fifth largest country by geographical area, the fifth most populous country, and the fourth most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Brazil has a coastline of over 7,491 kilometers (4,655 mi). It is bordered on the north by Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana and the overseas department of French Guiana, on the northwest by Colombia, on the west by Bolivia and Peru; on the southwest by Argentina and Paraguay and on the south by Uruguay. The population of Brazil is approximately 191,908,598. The population density of it is 22/sq km. It has of population growth rate 0.98%. Most of Brazil's people belong to Roman Catholic religion. Official and most common language of those people is Portuguese . It has 54% of White people and rest are mulatto, black and unspecified people. In terms of economy, Characterized by large and well-developed agricultural, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors, Brazil's economy outweighs that of all other South American countries and is expanding its presence in world markets. Having weathered 2001-03 financial turmoil, capital inflows are regaining strength and the currency has resumed appreciating. Brazil's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2007 estimate is approximately 1,804 trillion with GDP of $11,873 per capita.
