About Antigua

Antigua is an island in the West Indies, Leeward Islands in the Caribbean region, the main island of the country of Antigua and Barbuda. It has experienced solid growth since 2003, driven by a construction boom in hotels and housing that which should wind down in 2008. Tourism continues to dominate the economy, accounting for more than half of GDP. Antigua's gross domestic product (GDP) as of 2006 estimate is approximately $1.526 billion with GDP of $18,300 per capita.
