About O2 Broadband
In June 2006, O2 purchased the broadband provider Be for £50m. At the time they were following in the shoes of Orange who had merged with broadband provider Wanadoo. Despite being relatively late among major telecoms companies to enter the broadband market, O2 have supplemented Be Broadband's superior technology with their own superior customer service and very efficient and transparent signup process.In December 2008, O2 increased their maximum download speed offered to a massive 20 MB. They charge no connection charge, have no limit on the amount of downloads (subject to a fair usage policy that prohibits activities that are detrimental to other customers experience) and offer a 30 day money back guarantee with all their products. All their services are £5 cheaper for existing or new O2 mobile phone customers. All include O2 customised wireless internet routers.
The small business broadband equivalent from O2 is no longer branded as business broadband, and is called Pro instead. With a higher upload speed of 2.5 MB, prioritised customer service and a static IP address included in the monthly price, this is a reliable option for all small businesses within the Be/O2 coverage area. O2 also offer O2 Broadband Access, a service using BT's network in areas not covered by the Be/O2 broadband network.
As a mobile network, O2 also offer mobile broadband. Available on both pay monthly tariffs, and also on pay & go, this is a great option with usage of 3GB or 10GB and unlimited Wi-Fi included as standard, benefiting from all the Wi-Fi access points available for iPhone users. They also offer some of the cheapest USB modems, which is especially important for pay & go customers.
