Samsung Tocco Lite Touch Screen

Every mobile manufacturer seems to be producing low cost touch screen phones at the moment and the touch sensitive interface is no longer reserved for expensive smartphones. But this has resulted in some fairly lacklustre products which fail to implement the touch technology well enough to actually make it an improvement over the older physical keypads. Thankfully Samsung cannot be tarred with this brush and the Tocco Lite is an example of how a budget touch screen mobile phone can be made to feel it is worth a great deal more than the retail price.

The main aspects that make the Samsung Tocco Lite touch screen interface work so well are the responsiveness of the screen to fingertip inputs combined with the quality of the image that the display is capable of producing. The screen itself is 3 inches in size, which is just a few fractions of an inch smaller than the high end smartphones like the iPhone, although it uses resistive touch technology. This means that it responds to the pressure you exert using your fingertip. Some experts have criticised other phones which use resistive screens because of the inordinate amount of pressure that is required to register a touch, but the Tocco Lite is blessed with a very responsive display that needs only the gentlest caress. This removes the need for a separate stylus, which some manufacturers are forced to include as part of the retail package in order to make up for the inadequacies of their touch screen technology. The Samsung Tocco Lite touch screen works well whether you are dialling a phone number or typing in the content of a text message.

You can also use the touch sensitive interface to manipulate elements of the homescreen and customise the phone to give it your own unique stamp of ownership. If you are a frequent visitor to social networking sites such as Facebook then you will like the fact that you can drag little widgets which provide instant access to such sites onto the homescreen. There is also a widget to let you search Google or access your Gmail account and you can of course arrange these in whatever way you see fit using just the tip of your finger to drag them around.

The Samsung Tocco Lite touch screen also comes in handy if you want to watch videos that you have transferred to the internal memory or a microSD memory card from your computer. All of the interaction with media files, both audio and video, is performed using the touch screen and because there are just 3 physical buttons on the front of the Tocco Lite there is plenty of room for the screen to stand out and display a decent size image or movie.

The Samsung Tocco Lite touch screen interface is applied across the entirety of the phone’s functions. You can navigate through any pictures that you have taken with the 3.2 megapixel camera using the touch screen and it is easy to modify any pictures you have taken afterwards with the photo editing software. Samsung has made sure that all of the icons and buttons which you can press using your fingers are large enough to be accessible to people with hands of all sizes, but without making them too chunky or childish.

The Tocco Lite is one of the best budget touch screen mobile phones around. Though others can offer better cameras, full QWERTY keypads or a more diverse selection of widgets, the Tocco Lite can easily boast the best touch screen interface and since you will spend all of your time interacting with this feature, its competency is of significant importance.
