Sony Ericsson Jalou GPS Function
Fashion phones have always been a part of the mobile phone industry, although ownership of a handset which puts style before substance is not something that most people have ever actually considered. In fact it was far easier to produce a fashion phone a few years ago because the size and shape of a phone were more important than its features. Not so in today’s market. However, the Sony Ericsson Jalou is a thoroughbred fashion phone, with striking looks and links to a famous designer label. But does this mean it is empty-headed beneath its glamorous exterior?
Thanks to a couple of high-end functions, the answer is a resounding ‘no’. It is the Sony Ericsson Jalou GPS capabilities that allow it to become far more than simply a flashy handset and there is no doubt that the target audience of the Jalou could well be taking advantage of the GPS in helping them find their way to the next party, shoot or show.
You can use the Sony Ericsson Jalou GPS in conjunction with a variety of applications, but the most obvious partnership is with mapping software. The Google Maps app comes preinstalled on the Jalou and of course this gives you access to worldwide geographic data, with points of interest and information on locations around the globe. If you are a bit of a jet-setter then the GPS will of course function regardless of your location and Google Maps will always be able to keep you on the right track. There are plenty of other phones that offer GPS these days, but there are few which look as perfectly formed as the Jalou whilst harbouring such advanced technology.
The Sony Ericsson Jalou GPS can also be used along with the 3.2 megapixel camera in order to geotag all of your photographs. Geotagging is essentially a function that adds a little piece of digital information to every picture you take, allowing you to retrieve it at a later date and find out exactly where you were when you took the picture. This is useful if you’ve been on holiday and use the Jalou to take hundreds of pictures and on your return home you want to organise and catalogue the files based on your location. It should also help solve any disputes as to where and when a photograph was taken. You can even use geotagged photographs as part of online projects and it is easy to share pictures of your local area online via photo sharing and indeed mapping services such as Google Maps.
The Sony Ericsson Jalou GPS function could be used in a relatively inventive manner with another of its quirky software applications. Fans of fitness may be aware that the Jalou has a built in pedometer, called the Walk Mate, that allows you to keep a track as to how many steps you have taken each day. You can set targets to help improve your health: any mobile application that aims to get you out of the house is surely a good thing. However, just going for a walk around the block can be boring, so using the Walk Mate in conjunction with the Sony Ericsson Jalou GPS connection could let you plan brand new routes around your local area, which you can of course change on the fly. You can then go out strolling or jogging to your heart’s content and simply use the mapping software when it is time to find your way back home again.
