Sony Ericsson S312 Camera
As mobile technology continues its relentless advance, the lower end of the mobile phone market has continued to adopt features associated with previous generations of high end handsets. The Sony Ericsson S312 is a low cost mobile that does not overwhelm you with features and functions, but provides the ideal platform for teenagers and photographically inclined adults to snap to their heart’s content.
The Sony Ericsson S312 camera is a 2 megapixel offering with a dedicated camera button situated along the side of the phone. You can quickly access the camera function and point and shoot it at the subject of your choosing. There is also a built in flash. This is incredibly useful since the low light performance of the S312 without the flash is pretty poor, although above average considering the cost of the phone.
Once you have taken a few snaps you will want to explore the photographic software that comes with the Sony Ericsson S312 camera. One of the most useful tools is the photo fix function. If you have taken a picture that is a little over-exposed, poorly focused or too dark then at the press of a button this clever little feature will automatically iron out as many of the visual creases as it possibly can. That means than even seemingly irretrievably poor shots can be improved with a little bit of technical magic.
An addition to taking simple pictures, you can also record video using the Sony Ericsson S312 camera. This too is performed with the touch of a button and as life is always full of little episodes that you may want to record for posterity, the speed with which this function can be accessed is a major benefit.
The Sony Ericsson S312 camera is well suited to snapping away without too much prior thought or planning and as such you will want to take advantage of the memory expansion options. There is a Memory Stick Micro port included in the S312, into which you can insert cards with up to 4GB of capacity. Since the 2 megapixel images you take will not fill up a vast amount of space, with a 4GB memory card you should be able to take thousands of pictures without ever exceeding the storage limit. A memory card is a great way in which to store your pictures, back up your favourites and transfer them from your phone to a friend’s handset or to your PC. Virtually every S312 owner is likely to want to buy a memory card fairly quickly after their purchase because there is a tiny 15MB of onboard memory.
Once you have taken a picture using the camera you can share it with your friends in other ways. Either send it as an MMS over the airwaves or alternatively turn on Bluetooth and interface with nearby compatible devices for short range transfers.
The Sony Ericsson S312 camera is also fully supported by Sony Ericsson’s picture blogging and media organising software. You can upload your photos directly from the S312 to your online blog and some popular publishing platforms are supported. The idea is that you can create a day by day representation of your life through the pictures you take, either by syncing them with your PC or by sending them to a blog. Of course once you have your photo blog set up, all of your friends and family can access the pictures you have taken. This is particularly useful if you are on holiday or on your gap year travels and you want the folks back home to share in some of your experiences.
